Windmill (cd. A 239): entry by order of 14 November 1977

Origin and history

The Coquelles windmill is an emblematic building located in the commune of Coquelles, in the Hauts-de-France region. Built during the 3rd quarter of the 18th century, it is a typical example of windmills of that time, used mainly for milling cereals. This type of monument illustrates the importance of agricultural and craft activities in the daily life of the rural populations of the period.

The mill was included in the inventory of Historic Monuments by order of 14 November 1977. This protection recognizes its heritage value and its role in local history. Although the practical information on its current visit or use is limited, its precise location is identified at 2084 Avenue Charles de Gaulle in Coquelles.

The location, noted as "a priori satisfactory", allows to situate this monument in its geographical and historical context.
