Origin and history
La Croix hosannière de La Chapelle-Thémer is a cross of a cemetery located in the Vendée department, in the commune of La Chapelle-Thémer. This monument, erected in the 19th century, is distinguished by its use of 14th century carved jobs, as well as 15th century tombs. These ancient elements, re-used in its construction, demonstrate a common practice of preserving historical fragments while integrating them into a new building.
The cross was listed as historic monuments on March 8, 2006, recognizing its heritage value. It is located precisely in the cemetery of the commune, at the approximate address of 1 Rue de Beauregard.
