Origin and history
The church Our Lady of the Market, listed as a Historical Monument, is distinguished by a composite architecture reflecting several epochs. Its apse, dating from the 1st quarter of the 13th century, remained broadly unchanged, with the exception of three windows modified in the 15th century. The columns, arches and ribs, of hard stone, contrast with a masonry vault. The bell tower, whose lower part dates back to 1203, underwent modifications in the 15th and 16th centuries, just like the three naves, completely rebuilt.
The protected elements include the bell tower and the abside, inscribed by order of 6 March 1928. The structure thus combines traces of the primitive Gothic (abside, base of the bell tower) and late additions (windows, naves). The location, specified as satisfactory (note 8/10), places the building at 4 Bis Rue Gauthier, on the town of Aschères-le-Marché (code Insee 45009), in the department of Loiret. A communal property, the church retains a central role in the local heritage.
The available sources (Monumentum, Mérimée base) underline the importance of this monument as a witness to the architectural evolutions between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. No information is provided on possible characters related to its construction or history, or on specific uses (visits, events) beyond its cultural and heritage status.
