Origin and history
The Valanglart farm, located in the Hautes-de-France, was built between 1852 and 1857 under the impetus of Marquis Henry de Valanglart. The latter worked with architect Henri Parent to build this agricultural complex, representative of the 19th century bourgeois farms. The site combines functional buildings (logis, stables, stables, sheds) and a barn with a frame inspired by Philibert Delorme, a rare architectural style for the period.
Classified Historic Monument by decree of 17 June 2003, the farm protects its facades, roofs, as well as elements such as the waterworks, the fence wall of the garden with its greenhouse, and two gates. These protections highlight the heritage value of the site, both for its architecture and for its integration into the rural landscape of the Somme. The property, now owned by a private company, bears witness to the influence of local elites in land use planning in the 19th century.
The official address listed in the Merimée base (Abbeville road) and GPS coordinates (2 Rue Neuve) confirm its anchoring in the village of Mediumville, near Amiens. Although the information on its current access (visits, rentals) is missing from the sources, its status as a Historic Monument makes it a site of interest for the study of picardian agricultural heritage.
