Origin and history
The Church of Exaltation-de-la-Sainte-Croix is a Catholic church located in Poyans, Haute-Saône department, in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Built in the first quarter of the seventeenth century, it is a typical example of the religious architecture of this period in this rural area.
The building was classified as historic monuments in 1960, recognizing its heritage value. Among the protected elements are a carved cross located on the south side of the church, classified by decree of 24 December 1959. This protection reflects the artistic and historical importance of some of its elements.
The church is located in the heart of the town of Poyans, at the approximate address of 1 Rue du Four.
