Origin and history

The Priory of Landugen is a religious monument located in the commune of Duault, in the department of Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany. Founded in the 16th century, it bears witness to the religious architecture of this period, with elements built between 1559 and the end of the 17th century. The nave and western facade, completed in 1559, are among the oldest parts, while the choir, the south arm and the finish of the nave date from about 1685. The north arm, for its part, would have been added at the end of the 16th or early 17th century.

The priory was partially listed as historic monuments by an order of 17 December 1926, thereby recognizing its heritage value. Today, it belongs to the commune of Duault and retains a protected chapel. Although sources mention its existence and its architectural evolution, little precise information is available on its exact role in local life or on its historical occupants.

The location of the priory, noted as approximate with an accuracy considered fair (level 5/10), is located at 3 Le Prieuré Saint-Jean in Duault. This site, marked by centuries of history, reflects the architectural and religious transformations of Brittany between the Renaissance and the modern era.
