Calvary (cad. A 1147): Order of 12 October 1964
Origin and history
Senven-Léhart Calvary, located in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany, dates from the 17th century. This religious monument, typical of Breton art, was classified as Historical Monument by decree of 12 October 1964. Today it belongs to the commune and is located precisely at 7 Rue de l'Église, as indicated in the Mérimée base. Its geographical location is estimated with poor accuracy (note 5/10), but its location remains symbolic in the heart of the village.
The current arrangement of the sculpted characters on this ordeal would result from a reconstruction that took place after the French Revolution. This reshuffle, although undated precisely in the available sources, reflects the political and religious upheavals of that time, which affected many cultural buildings in France. Calvary, a communal property, is not explicitly described as open or closed to the visit in the data consulted.
Available sources, including the Monumentum platform, highlight its heritage importance without providing details about its original sponsor or the artisans who worked on its creation or restoration. The lack of information on its contemporary use (visits, events) limits the understanding of its current role in local life. The Creative Commons license associated with his photo (credit GO69) suggests, however, a documentary and tourist interest for this emblematic monument of interior Brittany.
