Origin and history

The Château d'Eulmont, located in the commune of the same name in the Grand Est region, is a genthommière built in the middle of the eighteenth century. The building, preceded by a courtyard and flanked by two pavilions, illustrates the aristocratic residential architecture of this period. Although mostly dated from the 18th century, it retains some elements of the 17th century, especially in its structure, as well as interior decorations and fireplaces characteristic of the style of the Enlightenment century.

Listed among the Historical Monuments since 1995, the castle of Eulmont enjoys partial protection: the main building, its well, are listed in the inventory, but excluding certain elements such as stairs on garden and a terrace. This distinction reflects the desire to preserve the most representative parts of its history. The official address, 2 Chemin de Metz, and its Insee code (54186) links it to the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, in the former Lorraine region.

Available sources, such as the Monumentum database or the Merimée data, underline its status as a seigneurial residence transformed over the centuries. However, no information is provided on its historical owners, its precise uses beyond the gentilhommière, or any significant events taking place there. The accuracy of its geographical location is considered satisfactory (level 6/10), and photographs licensed under Creative Commons document its current aspect.
