Origin and history

The château d'Embry is a building located in the commune of Embry, in the Hauts-de-France region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. This monument therefore remains partially mysterious for local historians.

In the Hauts-de-France, castles have often played a central role in the social and economic organization of rural areas. They served as seigneurial residences, administrative centres or defence sites. In Embry, as in other villages in the region, these buildings generally reflected local power and dominant agricultural activities, such as livestock farming or grain farming.
