Origin and history
The building located at 7 rue Royale, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, is an architectural testimony of the 2nd half of the 18th and 19th centuries. Its construction is part of the urban transformation of this Parisian neighbourhood, then in full transformation under the influence of bourgeois and aristocratic elites. The building combines stylistic elements from the end of the Ancien Régime with subsequent additions, reflecting changes in tastes and social uses in Paris.
One of the most remarkable spaces in the building is the panelling lounge of the Second Empire, located on the street. Ranked by decree of 10 January 1962, it illustrates the opulence and refinement of the Parisian interiors under Napoleon III, when the salons become places of social and political representation. The facade and roof were protected as early as 31 January 1949, highlighting their heritage value in the Haussmann landscape.
Today, the building is the property of an association, but its current use (visits, room rental, guest rooms) is not specified in the available sources. Its location on Rue Royale, near Place de la Concorde, makes it a key part of the heritage of the 8th arrondissement, marked by a history both monarchy, imperial and bourgeois.
Location data indicate poor accuracy (note 5/10), without accurate GPS coordinates confirmed. The official address registered in the Mérimée base, however, corresponds to 7 rue Royale, in an emblematic area of Paris, classified as Historic Monuments for its most representative elements.
