Origin and history
Dammartin Castle, located in Dammartin-Marpain in the Jura, was rebuilt in the late seventeenth century. This historic monument features a rectangular house, with a tower at the south corner and extended by two lateral wings. Its architecture reflects the work of the 18th century, especially in the middle of this century.
The raised ground floor houses a string of rooms, including the entrance and the large living room opening onto the park. The interior elements, such as the panels and chimneys, date from the 18th and 19th centuries, with various foyer plates in the rooms. The castle is connected to its communes by a carriageway, while another driveway borders the park to the southwest.
The castle, including its park, was inscribed in the Historic Monuments by order of 27 January 2011. It is now shared between private and communal property. Its location, although documented (3 Church Street), is considered to be of poor accuracy (note 5/10).
