The attic in full (Box B 121): inscription by order of 19 December 2001
Origin and history
The chalot attic of Saint-Bresson is an agricultural building dated 1666, located in the commune of Saint-Bresson, Haute-Saône. This monument is distinguished by its wooden structure, solidarity with a sheltering masonry, and its vaulted basement in cradle. It belongs to a series of similar buildings, the oldest known of which dates back to 1616, illustrating a local architectural tradition linked to agricultural storage needs.
The attic retains all its original elements, including its sandstone lava roof, typical of the region. It was registered as historic monuments by order of 19 December 2001, thereby recognizing its heritage value. This type of building reflects the rural organisation of Burgundy-Franche-Comté in the 17th century, where attices played a central role in crop conservation and resource management.
The precise location of the monument at 420 La Corbière and its Insee code (70460) confirm its anchoring in the territory of Haute-Saône. Although the practical information about his visit remains unspecified, his protected status makes it an important testimony to the region's agricultural and architectural heritage.
