Origin and history

Marcel Dupré's house, located in Meudon, is a historic residence built in 1860. Acquised in 1926 by organist Marcel Dupré (1886-1971), it became a place dedicated to music thanks to the addition of a room specially designed to house an organ. This instrument, built in 1899 by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, originally belonged to Alexandre Guilmant, master of Dupré.

The music room, decorated with 19th century stained glass windows, hosts private concerts and is an important place in musical life between the two wars. In 1995, this hall was classified as a Historical Monument by decree, recognizing its heritage importance. The house, with its artist's studio, illustrates the link between domestic architecture and artistic creation at the beginning of the twentieth century.

The exact address of the house is 40 boulevard Anatole-France in Meudon, Hauts-de-Seine. Although the GPS location is approximate, this place remains a testament to the cultural and musical heritage of Marcel Dupré, a renowned organist, and his influence on the French artistic scene of the time.
