Origin and history
The former castle of Boissy, located in Sully in the department of Calvados, is a building built in the sixteenth century. This historic monument is located near the Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativity church and the Boissy mansion, on the edge of the Port-en-Bessin road. It belonged to M. de Sully before being acquired in the 19th century by Louis Guillot, former sub-prefect of Bayeux.
The castle was converted into a luxury hotel, while its dovecote was listed as a historic monument on 23 June 1933. This type of building reflects the architecture and lifestyle of the local elites during the Renaissance, a period marked by the construction of seigneurial residences and outbuildings such as dovecotes, symbols of prestige.
Available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, indicate that the castle is now a top-of-the-range accommodation, while retaining part of its protected historical heritage. The precise location of the monument is reported as approximate, with an address mentioned in Sully, but GPS coordinates suggesting a proximity to Castillon.
