According to local tradition, King Charles VII s These details, although not formally verified, illustrate the historic significance of this site as a milestone for brand travellers.

Over the centuries, the inn has played a strategic role. In 1591, she served as headquarters at Philibert d'Acphier, then governor of Saint-Flour, stressing its usefulness in local conflicts. Inside, a Renaissance fireplace adorned with a carved shield representing a deer with flowery woods bears witness to the artistic refinement of the era. The façade, the roof and the fireplace were listed as historic monuments by order of 14 October 1946, thus recognizing their heritage value.

The building, located at 11 rue des Tuiles-Hauts, embodies the urban history of Saint-Flour, a city marked by its medieval past and its role as a crossroads in Haute-Auvergne. The cellars, dug directly in the rock, and preserved architectural elements offer an overview of the construction techniques and social uses of the period, between trade, hospitality and defense. Today, this monument remains a symbol of the local heritage, between collective memory and tourist attraction.
