Origin and history

The town hall of Songeons, located in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region, is a communal building built in the 1st quarter of the 19th century, more precisely in 1819. This monument is characterized by a sober architectural order, combining a wooden and torchi structure, typical of the local buildings of the period. Its originality lies in its corinthian portico entirely made of wood, a rare stylistic detail for a rural town hall of this period.

Listed among the Historical Monuments, the Town Hall of Songeons was registered by decree of 15 April 1988. This status specifically protects the former town hall (cadastral reference C 679), emphasizing its heritage interest. The building, owned by the municipality, illustrates the evolution of post-revolutionary public buildings, marking the transition to permanent local administrative structures.

The location of the monument at 24 Rue du Maréchal de Boufflers is specified with a reliability considered very satisfactory (note 8/10). Although the practical information on current visits or uses is not detailed in the sources, its state of conservation and accessibility suggest an ongoing role in communal life. The data come mainly from the Merimée database and the Monumentum platform, supplemented by internal surveys.
