Origin and history
The Hôtel du Barry, located at 2bis-2ter rue de la Jussienne in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, was built in 1752 by architect Pierre Quirot-le-Jeune for his personal use. This building illustrates the transition style between Louis XV and Louis XVI, with a facade adorned with a forebody on three levels, surmounted by an attic. Its ironwork and sculptures (agrafes, consoles, modillon cornice) are of exceptional quality, reflecting the artistic know-how of the eighteenth century.
The building changed owners over the centuries: it belonged to the Public Assistance in 1975 before being sold in 1979 to the Ministry of Labour. Ranked Historic Monument, it has been protected since 1996 for its facades and roofs, demonstrating its heritage importance. Its exact address, 2bis-2ter rue de la Jussienne, and its Insee code (75102) place it precisely in the Parisian landscape.
The location of the Hôtel du Barry is considered "a priori satisfactory" (note 7/10), and its GPS coordinates place it near 5 rue de la Justienne. Although its access to the public (visits, rentals) is not specified, its architecture and history make it an outstanding example of the 18th century Parisian civil heritage.
