No. 30, in Bailly-en-Garrois: by order of 24 April 1964
Origin and history
The flowermark No. 30 is an emblematic monument located in Grandpuits-Bailly-Carrois, in the Seine-et-Marne department. Built in the 19th century, it is located on the route of the former departmental road 619, now renamed RN 19, and marks the territory of the former commune of Bailly-en-Garrois. Its architectural style, characterized by lily flower motifs, reflects a monarchic or administrative tradition of the time.
Ranked as a historical monument since 24 April 1964, this pillar reflects the importance of road and territorial landmarks under the Second Empire or the Third Republic. These terminals were used to define communal boundaries, royal or national roads, and to facilitate the management of territories. Their preservation illustrates the attachment to local heritage and the history of infrastructure in Île-de-France.
The monument is now preserved in situ, in the territory of Grandpuits-Bailly-Carrois, a commune resulting from the fusion of several villages, including Bailly-en-Garrois. Although its exact location is considered "passable" (note 5/10) according to the geographical databases, its status as a Historic Monument makes it a protected part of the Franciscan heritage. No information is available on its accessibility to the public or its current use.
