Origin and history

The Vallombert Campaign is a bastide located in Allauch, in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Built in the 19th century, it embodies the traditional architecture of farms in the Marseille region. The main building, surrounded by French gardens and terraces, preserves period wallpapers in several rooms, testimonies of its history.

The property covers 12 hectares, including farm buildings and staff housing. It was partially classified as a Historic Monument in 2003, protecting its facades, roofs, some decorated interiors, as well as its structured gardens. Its spatial organization and layout reflect the 19th century Provencal rural lifestyle.

The bastide, redeveloped during the 19th century, illustrates the evolution of agricultural estates around Marseille. Its gardens, combining classic style and terraces, highlight the adaptation of local elites to topographical constraints. The designation of historic monuments in 2003 helped to preserve this architectural and landscape heritage, characteristic of the Allauchese territory.
