Origin and history

La Chapelle de l'Hospice, located in Bourg-Saint-Andéol in the department of Ardèche, is a monument classified among the Historical Monuments. Its official classification was carried out by ministerial decree on 13 September 1919, reflecting its heritage and architectural importance. Today, it belongs to the commune and remains a symbol of local heritage.

Bourg-Saint-Andéol, like many municipalities in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, has had a history marked by agricultural, artisanal and commercial activities. The hospices and chapels played a central role in the social and religious life of the communities, offering refuge, care and place of worship.
