Origin and history
Henri II's house in Magny-en-Vexin is a building dating from the 3rd quarter of the 16th century, located in Val-d'Oise, in the Île-de-France region. This monument, whose facades and roofs have been inscribed in the Historical Monuments since 1965, bears witness to the civil architecture of the French Renaissance. Its exact address, 34 Carnot Street, is listed in the Merimée base, although the accuracy of its location is considered mediocre (note of 5/10).
At that time, the French Vexin was a region marked by a rural and artisanal economy, where bourgeois or aristocratic houses like this served as residences for local notables. These buildings often reflected the social status of their owners and played a role in the administrative or commercial organization of cities. The partial protection of this monument in 1965 underscores its heritage importance, although its current use (visit, rental, etc.) is not specified in the available sources.
