Origin and history

The Fort House of Varagnes is a monument located in the commune of Annonay, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Although classified as strong houses, typical of medieval or post-medieval rural defensive architecture, there are no available sources that specify its construction period or detailed history. Its name and location suggest a residential and defensive function, common for this type of building in the French countryside.
