The facades: inscription by decree of 11 December 1925

Origin and history

The houses located at 27 and 29 Place Duroc in Pont-à-Mousson constitute an architectural complex recognized as Historic Monument. Their particularity lies in their facades, protected by an inscription order dated 11 December 1925. These buildings, located in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle (Great East region), illustrate a preserved urban heritage, although their precise location on the current maps is considered mediocre (note of 5/10).

Pont-à-Mousson, the city of Lorraine, now integrated into the Grand East, is part of an urban history marked by civil and religious constructions. Bourgeois or artisanal houses, such as those in Place Duroc, often reflect the social and economic evolution of the 17th, 18th or 19th centuries, when these buildings were at the heart of local life. Their preservation demonstrates the importance attached to architectural heritage in small and medium-sized French cities.
