Origin and history

The Faverney Barracks is a military building built in the 3rd quarter of the 18th century. Located in the commune of Faverney, Haute-Saône, it is representative of the utilitarian architecture of this period, intended to house troops or military equipment. Its facades, roofs and stables, which have been listed as historic monuments since 1986, demonstrate its local heritage importance.

The building, now owned by the municipality, illustrates the role of the barracks in the territorial and logistical organization of the armies under the Old Regime.
