The castle of Domecy-sur-Cure is an emblematic building located in the department of Yonne, on the eponymous municipality of Domecy-sur-Cure, in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. Built mainly in the 15th and 17th centuries, it illustrates the architectural transitions between the late Middle Ages and the classical period, with elements like a Renaissance fireplace still preserved in the large living room. This monument reflects the evolution of the styles and uses of castles in Burgundy, an area marked by a strong seigneurial presence and intense agricultural and wine-growing activities at that time.

Listed under the title of historical monuments by decree of 3 March 1986, the castle enjoys protection on its facades, roofs, as well as on remarkable elements such as its square dovecote and circular dovecote, integrated into the communes. These dependencies, typical of seigneurial estates, underline the economic and symbolic importance of the site, where resource management (such as pigeon breeding) played a key role in local life. The absence of detailed sources about its owners or its event history limits the precise knowledge of its past, but its inscription bears witness to its heritage value.
