Origin and history

The Château de Lancarré is a house built in the late 19th century in the commune of Plestin-les-Grèves, in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany. This monument illustrates the bourgeois architecture of this period, marked by bodies of structured houses and neat decorative details, such as return larmies or bays on the cross.

The main body of the castle consists of a circular tower and a building covered with a roof in the pavilion, with a semi-entered basement, a raised ground floor, a square floor and an attic. These features reflect the aesthetic and functional cannons of the affluent residences of the period, where comfort and appearance played a central role.

As part of the general inventory of cultural heritage, the Lancarré Castle bears witness to the local history and architectural evolution of Brittany at the end of the 19th century. Its inclusion in heritage databases, such as Mérimée, underscores its importance for the preservation of regional heritage.
