Origin and history

The Stairs Farm, located in Aiserey in the Côte-d'Or department (21), is a historic monument with residential buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. This site illustrates the Burgundy rural architecture of the Renaissance and modern times, with characteristic elements of the farms of this period. The farm buildings, added in the 19th century, complete this set, reflecting the evolution of agricultural practices over centuries.

Classified as a Historic Monument, the Stairs Farm includes a house, barn, stables and hangar, protected by order of 7 June 1994. These elements, identified under cadastral plots B 1089 to 1091, testify to the spatial and functional organization of Burgundy farms. The accuracy of its location is considered very satisfactory (note 8/10), and its official address, 14 B Rue du Jura, confirms its anchoring in the urban fabric of Aiserey.

The property, now owned by a private company, retains both a residential and potentially economic character, although information on its openness to the public or current uses (visits, rentals, guest rooms) is not specified in the available sources. Its inscription in the title of Historical Monuments underlines its heritage importance in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, where traditional farms play a key role in local agricultural and social history.
