Chapelle Saint-Cado (Box B 235): inscription by decree of 20 January 1926

Origin and history

Saint-Cado Chapel is a religious building located in the commune of Ploumilliau, in the Côtes-d'Armor department, Brittany. Built in the 18th century, it illustrates the evolution of local architectural traditions by its simplicity: a rectangular room covered with panelling and a bell tower supported by two foothills on the facade.

The chapel was listed as historic monuments by order of 20 January 1926, thus recognizing its heritage value. Owned by the commune, it is distinguished by its lack of superfluous ornamentation, reflecting a modest and functional architecture, typical of the small Breton chapels of that time.

Its exact location is specified at 8 Rue Saint-Kado, 22300 Ploumilliau, according to the data of the Merimée database. Although its GPS location is considered mediocre (level 5 precision), it remains a local landmark linked to the religious devotion and history of the region. No information is available about its current access to the public or its contemporary use.
