Chapelle Saint-Roch (Box A 1245) : inscription by order of 28 March 1977
Origin and history
The chapel Saint-Roch de Mazingarbe is a religious building built in the early eighteenth century, more precisely during the first quarter of this century. Located in the municipality of Mazingarbe, in the department of Pas-de-Calais, it is located on Rue Victor-Hugo. This monument has been included in the inventory of Historic Monuments since 1977, reflecting its heritage and architectural importance to the region.
The chapel is the property of a public establishment, and its location is listed with an accuracy deemed "a priori satisfactory" in the Merimée base. Although available sources do not specify its current use (visit, rental, etc.), its registration in 1977 highlights its historical value. The Hauts-de-France region, to which Mazingarbe belongs, was at that time marked by a rural and artisanal life, where religious buildings played a central role in community life.
Available data from Monumentum and the Merimée database indicate that the Saint-Roch Chapel is a protected part of the local heritage. Its Insee code (62563) clearly links it to Pas-de-Calais, in the former Nord-Pas-de-Calais, which is now part of Hauts-de-France. No additional information on its architect, sponsors or specific historical events is mentioned in the sources consulted.
