Origin and history

Château Beaumarais is a building located in the commune of Roiffieux, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Although its name and location are attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. This monument therefore remains partially mysterious for local historians.

In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, castles and fortified houses often played a central role in the social and economic organization of the territories. They served as seigneurial residences, places of protection or symbols of power. In Roiffieux, as in other rural communities, these buildings could also be linked to agricultural or artisanal activities, reflecting the daily lives of local people throughout the centuries.
