Timeline

Origin and history

The Château de Corru is a building located in the commune of Beaufai, Normandy. Available sources do not specify its construction period or architectural style, thus limiting information on its specific historical context. In medieval and modern Normandy, castles often played a central role in the social and economic organization of the territories.

They served as seigneurial residences, defence places or symbols of power. In Beaufai, as in other Norman villages, these monuments could structure local life around agricultural, artisanal or military activities, depending on their function and time.
