Cheminée du 16s in the dining room on the ground floor (Box AH 84, 85): inscription by order of 7 December 1965

Origin and history

The Château de D'Huison-Longueville is an emblematic 16th-century building located in the municipality of the same name in the Essonne department. This monument, partly listed as historical monuments, bears witness to the residential architecture of the French Renaissance. Its precise location at 6 rue du Château makes it a local heritage landmark.

The most remarkable element of the castle is its 16th century fireplace, located in the dining room on the ground floor. This architectural element was protected by a registration order dated December 7, 1965, highlighting its historical and artistic importance. The castle, although partially classified, remains a significant example of the built heritage of Île-de-France.

Available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm its status as a Historic Monument and provide administrative details, such as its Insee code (91198) and its exact address. However, little information is available about its detailed history, its successive owners or its current use, whether it be visits, room rental or accommodation.
