Origin and history

The Château de la Chevrollière is a French building located in Ampoigné, in the department of Mayenne, in the Pays de la Loire region. It is distinguished by its elongated architecture, composed of two symmetrical pavilions framing a central body, supplemented by a veranda overlooking the porch. Its location, to the south of the village, makes it a significant element of the local landscape.

The castle experienced a notable historical episode during the French Revolution, when it was sold as a national good on 1st fructidor year II (18 August 1794). This sale specifically concerned Augustin-Pierre-Philippe d'Héliand, for an amount of 29,100 pounds tournaments. The building is listed in historical sources such as the Dictionary of the Mayenne (1900-1910) of Angot and Gaugain.

Although the details of its initial use or its successive owners remain partial in the available sources, the castle illustrates the civil architecture of the 17th–15th centuries in Maine. Its inclusion in the List of castles of the Mayenne emphasizes its regional heritage importance, without any additional information on its evolution or restoration being documented here.
