Origin and history

The Château de la Gardiola is a building located in the municipality of Coaraze, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. This monument therefore remains partially mysterious for local historians.

In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, castles and fortifications often played a central role in the social and defensive organization of the territories. In Coaraze, as in other medieval villages, these structures could serve as a refuge, a symbol of power or a place of control on commercial roads.
