Origin and history

Château de la Salle is a former building located in the commune of Mareau-aux-Bois, in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Built probably in the seventeenth century, today only remains remains of this building, testifying to its local architectural and historical past. This monument was demolished in 1920, marking the end of its existence as a complete structure.

Although little detailed information is available on its history or occupants, its location and construction period connect it to the evolution of castles in France during the modern era. These buildings often played a central role in the social and economic organization of the rural territories, serving as residences for local lords or as management sites for the surrounding agricultural estates.
