Origin and history
Lagasie Castle is a monument located in Garrigues, Tarn department, Occitanie region. Although its history remains largely unknown, its architecture suggests construction during the 19th century. Today, it is open to the public for cultural events, in partnership with local associations.
The castle consists of a three-storey quadrangular house body, with a north facade flanked by two round towers and a south facade marked by a square tower. Its rectangular openings on the lower and semicircular floors at the last, as well as its brick frames, reflect a sober and elegant style. The estate includes a park with a dovecote, a private chapel and a pavilion, all built in brick.
The castle park also houses a French garden in front of the main façade. Although little documented, the site seems to have been designed as a private residence, combining functionality and aesthetics. Its current openness to cultural events reflects a desire to preserve and enhance local heritage.
