Origin and history

The Château de Louche is a building located in the commune of Annet-sur-Marne, Seine-et-Marne. It consists of a main body rebuilt in the 19th century, surrounded by a park known as a leisure garden, now partially owned by the municipality. This restored park earned Annet-sur-Marne the 2nd Departmental Prize for Landscape and Environment in 1994, highlighting its local heritage importance.

Originally a hunting lodge, the castle was transformed into a retirement home in 2007. Its history reflects a typical evolution of the aristocratic domains in Île-de-France: first a place of leisure for the elite, then reassigned to contemporary social uses. The conserved park bears witness to the 19th century landscape developments, now preserved for their historical and environmental value.

The castle also illustrates the dynamics of preserving the francilian heritage, where the municipalities play an active role in the restoration and enhancement of historic green spaces. His case shows how a private monument can become a shared asset, combining local memory and public utility.
