Origin and history

The château de Monceaux is a building built in the second half of the eighteenth century, more precisely in 1763, on the town of Saint-Omer-en-Chaussée, in the Oise department. This castle, representative of the aristocratic architecture of the time, was commissioned by François Henry d'Hardivilliers, father of Éléonore Jean d'Hardivilliers. Its style reflects the artistic and social influences of the pre-revolutionary period, marked by the refinement of noble residences in the province.

The monument was classified as historic monuments on March 18, 1970, recognizing its heritage value. This classification includes facades, roofs, as well as interior elements such as the large living room, small living room and library, with their original decoration.
