Neyrieu Castle dans la Drôme

Origin and history

The Château de Neyrieu is a monument located in the commune of Chabeuil, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The available sources do not specify its time of construction or its detailed architecture, but its existence is attested in the internal data. The castles of this region, often linked to feudal history or to local families, played a central role in social and economic organization.

In Chabeuil, as elsewhere in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, these buildings could serve as seigneurial residences, defence sites or symbols of power. Their presence generally reflected the political and territorial dynamics of their time.
