Château de Routger dans les Landes

Origin and history

Château de Routger is a building located in the commune of Sainte-Marie-de-Gosse, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. This monument therefore remains an architectural testimony whose origins and exact functions would require further research.

Castles in this region, often linked to feudal history or the seigneurial organization, could be used as residences, defences or symbols of power. In the absence of specific information on Routger, it can be assumed that he played a similar role in local life, reflecting the social and economic dynamics of the Landes at an unspecified time.
