Origin and history

The Château de Trousseau is an 18th-century building located in Ris-Orangis, Essonne, in the Île-de-France region. It is located on the western slope of the Seine valley, facing the forest of Senart, and is visible from the railway. This castle, located 23 km southeast of Paris, is an example of architecture of this period in the Hurepoix region.

The castle was sold as a national property in 1793 when it belonged to Marc-Henri Le Pileur de Brévannes, president of the Chamber of Accounts. It was then purchased in 1802 by General Count Michel Ordener. In 1845 he became the property of the family of the present owners. The castle was listed as a historical monument on 14 November 1985.

The Château de Trousseau is located near the old national road 7 and is referenced in the base Mérimée. Its exact address is 15 Château de Trisseau, 91130 Ris-Orangis. It is part of the historical monuments of the Essonne and is a testimony of local history and architecture of the eighteenth century.
