Origin and history

Villotran Castle is an 18th-century building located in the municipality of Villotran in the Oise department. This monument, typical of the architecture of its time, reflects the style and artistic influences of this period in Picardia. It is today a testimony of local heritage and regional history.

In the 18th century, the castles in Picardy often served as residences for noble or bourgeois families, while playing an economic and social role in their environment. They were agricultural management centres, reception places and power symbols. The Château de Villotran is in this context, although its specific historical details remain little documented in the available sources.

Currently, the castle belongs to the Flajoliet and Lavergne families. He also hosted cultural events, such as rehearsals of musicians from the Assas de Concert association in April 2013, highlighting his contemporary role as a gathering place and artistic activity.
