Origin and history

Le Château du Buisson is a monument located in the commune of Fontaines-Saint-Martin, in the Rhône department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This site is listed as a Historic Monument, although details of its construction period or precise history are not explicitly mentioned in available sources. Only part of the building, namely its door, has been officially protected since 26 March 1926, when it was registered by order.

In Fontaines-Saint-Martin, as in many rural municipalities in the Lyon region, castles and fortified houses often played a central role in the local social and economic organization.
