Origin and history

Château du Gamereau is a building located in the municipality of Sandillon, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. The available sources do not specify its period of construction or its detailed history, making it a monument whose origins remain to be explored. The castles of this region, often linked to feudal history or the evolution of agricultural fields, played a central role in the local social and economic organization.

In Sandillon, as in other villages in the Loire Valley, these buildings could be used as seigneurial residences or as management centres for surrounding lands.
