Origin and history

The Château du Hilguy, located in Plogastel-Saint-Germain in Brittany, is a historical monument dating back to the 17th century. It is preceded by a monumental decorated door, typical of this period, and framed by walls connecting two pavilions decorated with archatures. This architectural device reflects the symbolic and aesthetic importance of domain entries at that time.

The stables of the castle, dated precisely from 1682, illustrate the attention paid to dependencies in the aristocratic properties. The current house, built in 1926, replaces an old castle whose exact location was reused. A mill dated 1767 completes this set, highlighting the variety of functions associated with this type of domain (agricultural, residential, and possibly industrial with the mill).

The entrance door to the castle, classified as Historic Monument by decree of 2 December 1926, constitutes the protected element of the site (cadastral reference C 41). Today, the castle belongs to a private company, and its current use (visits, rentals, accommodation) is not specified in the available sources. The location, noted as "a priori satisfactory" (level 7/10), places the site at the approximate address 324 Le Hilgui, confirming its anchoring in the territory of Plogastel-Saint-Germain, in Finistère.
