Origin and history
Château le Mas-du-Clos is a manor house located in the town of Saint-Avit-de-Tardes in the Creuse department. It is distinguished by its square house body, flanked by two round towers, and its many outbuildings. Nearby are the Château du Chier de Barmont (1.5 km) and the town of Aubusson (10 km).
The estate houses a car circuit created in 1963 by Pierre Bardinon, renowned for its iconic elevation and Ferrari car collection. After the asphalt circuit closed in 2012, a dirt circuit for SUV-4x4 was opened by his son Patrick Bardinon. The site reopened in 2022 after work on standards.
The castle and its circuit marked the local history, mixing architectural heritage and automotive passion. Their reputation goes beyond regional borders, thanks in particular to Pierre Bardinon's legacy and the technical uniqueness of the route.
