Origin and history
The Château Saint-Firmin, located in Vineuil-Saint-Firmin in the Hauts-de-France, is an 18th-century historical monument. Built of cut stone, it consists of a central house body framed by two pavilions, with two floors and a top. Its architecture, typical of the Louis XVI style, was completed just before the French Revolution. The building still retains remarkable painted woodwork on the ground floor, testimonies of its original decor.
The castle is decorated with an English garden and offers a view of the park of Chantilly Castle, on the other side of the large canal. It is part of the Chantilly estate, whose park also extends over the neighbouring communes of Avrilly-Saint-Léonard and Vineuil-Saint-Firmin. The facades, roofs, the large living room with its decor, as well as the cooler, have been protected since a registration order in 1988.
Although its location is approximate (noted 5/10 in detail), the castle remains a fine example of the architectural heritage of the region. His history is closely linked to that of Chantilly, with which he shares a common landscape. No information is available on its current accessibility or contemporary uses (visits, rentals, etc.).
