Origin and history

The Château de Chenoise-Cucharmoy is a 16th century monument located in the commune of Chenoise, Seine-et-Marne (77), in the Île-de-France region. This castle has been partially listed in the Historical Monuments since 1931, especially for its communes, protected by ministerial decree. Its location, although documented, remains approximate according to available sources, with an accuracy considered "a priori satisfactory" (note 6/10).

In the 16th century, Île-de-France was a Renaissance region where castles played a central role in the social and economic organization of the territories. These buildings often served as seigneurial residences, management sites for surrounding agricultural lands, and symbols of power for noble families. The castle of Chenoise-Cucharmoy fits in this context, although the archives do not specify its exact use or its possible original owners.
