Origin and history

The church Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes de Chaville was designed in 1906 by Abbé Albert Anatole Bouret, parish priest. After considering several sites (Boulevard des Trois-Gares, Parc Lefebvre), he opted for a field at Doisu. Its construction, which began in 1911, took place over twenty years, with a first phase inspired by the basilica of Lourdes.

The bells, Albertine, Alexandrine and Madeleine, were baptized on October 11, 1931. The building was completed in 1935 with the erection of the bell tower. She succeeded the former church of Notre-Dame de Chaville, destroyed in 1966 after decades of degradation. In 1981, it recovered two bells and a 17th century crucifix from the latter.

The church today embodies a significant religious and architectural heritage for the city of Chaville, in the Hauts-de-Seine. Its history reflects the urban and spiritual evolution of the municipality in the 20th century.
