Origin and history
Notre-Dame Church is a Catholic church located in the commune of La Neuville-Chant-d'Oisel, Seine-Maritime, Normandy. Built in the 13th century, it is dedicated to Notre-Dame and consecrated in 1258. Its architecture combines radiant Gothic elements, especially in its three naves, and subsequent additions such as the stalls of the late eighteenth century, coming from the hospital Saint-Jacques des Andelys.
The work of rebuilding the choir in the 19th century, led by Abbé Acher, marked a second important phase in its history. The building, partially listed as a historic monument on November 24, 1926 for its nave arcades, combines traditional materials such as stone, stone and plaster.
The precise location of the church is at 83 or 98 Church Street, depending on the sources, in a department marked by a rich religious heritage. Its partial inscription reflects the historical value of its oldest architectural elements, while showing stylistic and functional evolutions over the centuries.
